about

The first tune is a very old one, apparently a clan march; it appeared, under different titles, in two of Playford's 17th century collections. The setting here is based on a Pádraig O'Keeffe manuscript setting which was recorded by Aoife Ní Chaoimh and Paudie O'Connor on their CD, "Didn't She Dance and Dance". The second and third tunes come from North Kerry fiddler Paddy O'Sullivan (1918-98) and are very local to the area. Paul edited "Into the Room, I Want You", a selection from Paddy's repertoire, which was published by the North Kerry Traditional Music Archive in 2011.

about

Amala County Kerry, Ireland

"This fine collection is full of glorious barrier-breaking music. Reidun Schlesinger and Paul de Grae break every rule in the book to glorious effect, as they bridge the gap between baroque tunes, traditional, tantalising original compositions, and even one borrowed from Dave Brubeck. … Yielding riches with each return, 'resonance' insinuates itself deep into the subconscious."
